This document describes how to configure your POP e-mail reader to access our mail system. Since Outlook Express is one of the most popular readers out there, we will use it in our examples. Different mail programs will have very similar settings. Refer to the users manuals of these programs to configure them with these procedures.

Step 1 - Run Outlook Express

In windows 98, MX, 2000, and XP you should see an icon on your desktop that looks like the following:

In addition, you should have an icon in your quick-start buttons (next to your start button, if it’s turned on) with the same icon:

If not you can find it under your Start/Programs menu. Simply click one of these to run Outlook Express.

Step 2 - Configure your new account

Once you have loaded Outlook Express, click on the Tools menu, then Accounts. You should see a dialog box similar to the following:

config102

Click Add then select Mail as the type of account to add. The following dialog should then appear:
config202

Type in your name in the space provided. This allows people to see a name in their email from you instead of just an e-mail address.

Click on the NEXT button to continue the configuration. You should now see:

config302

Type in your e-mail address as provided to you by your Post Office (e-mail) administrator.

Click on the NEXT button to continue the configuration. You should now see:

For “Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server”, type “mail.adconn.com” and the same for “Outgoing mail (SMTP) server”
